Messed up installing aluminum gauge bezel

First of all it didn't fit. I tried to shave the sides a bit with my dremel but it still didn't fit. I made bent marks in the right side of it trying to force it. The chrome rings I had before are smaller than the holes cut out on the bezel. It looks really messy now with super glue all over the place and right side of it isn't flush with the gauge cluster, it lifts up about 1 cm. I totally regret this purchase.

Mine fit perfect as well. You might have gotten a bad cut out. That can happen. If you have pictures of it, then e-mail them to Jeff and find out what happened. I am really satisfied with it. I put the chrome gauge rings on as well. It looks tight with the SE gauges!

Hey Ryan, you finally got those gauges in the car? any problem with the rings, I'm thinking of doing this to mine as well, I'm just too lazy to take apart my dash again, it's too cold!

As for the initial post...see if you can talk to your FNND about getting a replacement bezel, try their service dept. it shouldn't be too much, I'd image, or if worse comes to worse you could always buy a new cluster from a salvage yard or something.

Hey Wasim I e-mailed you pictures of the SE gauges with the aluminum bezel and chrome rings. Did you get it? As far as rings fitting I didn't have any issues. I actually didn't even have to modify the smaller rings for the fuel and temp gauge because the aluminum overlay is a little wider in diameter and they sat pretty well on there. They were slightly up a little, but I used silicone around each ring and let it sit so they won't move. The bigger rings took a little time to straighten perfectly because they are really close to being almost too small for the speedo and tach with the aluminum bezel. I hope that is clear enough for you. But yeah...not real major issues.

I guess I just have bad luck like usual. Glad it worked out for you other guys. I just have to get used to staring at clumped up super glue and a bent up bezel everyday.

Hey get a price quote on the black piece the bezel fits on. The part # is 24812-2Y000. It shouldn't be more than like $20. But then again the pricing system on parts is quite absurd sometimes. GOOD LUCK! Jeff from ap-signworks.com may be nice enough to give you a discount on the next aluminum bezel, or even give a freebie if you ask nicely and describe the problem.

A hint for the next install, use silicone instead of hot glue if you need some sort of adhesive. It cleans up better and you get more time to set it right before it cures.

Thanks foodmanry for your reply. You've been very helpful. I'll give your suggestions a shot.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention DaveB for the parts. His number is 800-251-7278. It's David Burnette. When you call just ask for him and he'll set you up. Let him know you are a member of the org and he'll take care of you no problem. I just ordered about 20 parts from him and he was kind enough to go through each one for me.
