UPDATED!! Gauging interest in GD for 2k2 WSP Y-Pipes

I'm trying to find out who is interested in getting a WSP Y-Pipe for the 3.5 engine (2k2-2k3). Please respond as Dallas MAY be willing to do it if enough people are interested. I am already talking with Dallas as to minimum amount of people and pricing, but I wanted to started getting some feedback first.

Below is the pricing he quoted me for one:

"The pipes are $225 for mandrel bent aluminized steel, $275 for mandrel bent 304 stainless. The B pipes are $170 with resonator and $140 without. $25 off B pipe with Y pipe purchase. B pipes available in either 2-1/4" or 2-1/2"."

I know there are some concerns with fitment and I asked him about it and this is what he replied:

"We had fitment issues on the first three we sold, we issued call tags and had them picked up and replaced them. We had to move a flange slightly and reposition a hanger.

We have heard of no other fitment issues from the last 20-30 we have sold."

Let me know if you're interested - I also asked him for some numbers to show how much gain we can expect. I will post information as I get it from him.

Thanks!!

Count me in. What is the difference in the 2 different size B pipes other than a 1/4 inch? I'm also worried about sound. I don't want my sound levels to jump dramatically. What is the hp difference with the resonator on the B pipe?

i am skeptical of the b pipe, I wanted to know if I will notice gains if i but the b pipe with resonator on..if its worth the extra money..
anybody know with facts not opinions?

i'm in and as an addition, see what we can get as far as a cat price as well. i mean if we're gonna buy this, i'd personally like an RT High-Flow cat.

I'm interested, depending on the final price and if I can convince my wife-to-be to let me spend the cash.

Larry tested the prototype on these. According to him he didn't notice much gains with just the Y pipe. When he added the B pipe he felt a noticeable improvement. This was done with the butt dyno but he also did some real dyno pulls. Do a search for his posts and you'll find more info.

This is what concerns me. Another member posted dyno results of almost 21hp and 20+ tq to the wheels when his 2k2 was dynoed. I don't know who to trust!

so if this is true, the Y-pipe isnt worth the money if there is "not much gain"... someone needs to shed some light on this...

Problem is not many 02-03 people have this mod. The best source of info right now are posts by Larry. Read his stuff. I personally think it is very much worth it but I would definitely get both the Y and B pipe.

im in for the y pipe. but as i recall larry did see gains from the dyno with a y pipe, b pipe, stock muffler. he did with an OEM filter and without. i think he saw 20+ hp/tq without the filter. his dynos were confusing. but someone said its only a 7 hp gain from the ypipe, bpipe, and stock muffler and the stock filter. im not sure which one is right.

i don't think there is any difference if you have a CAI or hybrid intake. the gains will be very similar.

I'm trying to get a GD together, but I'm getting no response from Dallas. But it this weekend if you want as I don't know when this GD will get started.

Good luck!!

Cool. That's what im going to do also. I'm willing to wait on a group buy, but if this thing gives me 15+, I still haven't added my pully are hi=flow cat to the equation. After all this is said and done my max will be running dam good. Come on you SC makers.

just to let you know maxbee, that the 15+ hp on the ypipe is very debatable, and you don't need a high flow cat for your car. our cats are good as aftermarket ones. they have dynoed the high flow cat and the stock cat. there was a 0 whp difference. its not worth getting it. save your money.

When I talked to Dallas he gave me some hp gains, though I don't totally remember the exact numbers but it was like 24 hp and 22 ft/lb. And if I buy the Y pipe I get that for 200, do I get the additional 25 off the B pipe. Chris

I'm pretty sure you can still get 25 off the b pipe.

Apparently, the aluminized ones take only about an hour to make while the SS ones take about 3 hours. So, Dallas has been having trouble keeping up with SS orders. That's the reason for only giving the discount off of the aluminized ones.

OK yes I do have this and its going on this week sometime. Now if you examinelarry's dynos it shows a 8whp gain and 13 tq gain with the stock airbox filter in. Now when he dynoed stock without the filter and modded without the filter he showed a 13whp and 17tq gain. The thing you are not noticing is the gain of whp at redline which is nearly 20 whp from stock. So if you have an intake already expect anywere from 10-15whp peak and 15-18 tq after the y and b pipes. I hope yall understand now and I will have dynos hopefully next week. Matt
