you saw the last wheels i had, they where 18x8.5 with a nice lip with 245/45/18 tire and they looked small.
in a 18" wheel i would not go smaller than 8" wide.

I was about to sell them too! How do you get these things off? I looked in my Haynes manual but all they show are pictures of it, not how to take it off.

What piece are you talking about?
up until now.. no one can prove to me why a 18x8 over a 18x7.5 .. can someone give me a technical answer?
the last answer i got was because it looks better
well um no.. they are still tucked under the rear fender wall..

I run 18x8s and 8.5s to clear my brakes
I didnt exactly plan to get big brakes when I bought the Maxi
but hell if I settled for 7.5 rims I woulda had to go rim shopping once again (not like I'm not a friggin wheel packrat anyhow...)

for me even if i had an 8" wide rim instead of the 7.5" i'd still be running a 235 tire so it doesn't make a difference

actually to tell you the truth... I never have actually tried to see if a 7.5" rim would clear or not clear... I'm sure with some spacers it would
but Ange had alot of problems making her Volks clear
7.5 inch widebut ... never gave it much thought- my wheels cleared so forget the rest
