Need an experts help with Infinity speakers (Not subs)
I'm looking for some Kappa CMMD's for the rear. Just plain old 2 ways. Nothing to fancy.
Anyway there are 2 models and I can't figure out what the difference's are between them.
There is the 652.5I and the 652.3I models. As far as I can tell they are identical. I can't figure out why there are 2 of them.....
I can only assume that the 652.3I's are the older version. I checked and crossed referenced Infinity's homepage and they don't even list the 652.3I.
Need anyone's knowledge on this.
Thanks!

Best way to check: If they are KAPPA series, speakers, get on eBay and see the specs. I knw that older Kappa series speakers were green, while this year's units are white/silver.

They are both CMMD's and I can't figure out what the difference is.

These may be the proper model numbers. Infinity normally uses the second or third digit to signify the number of drivers. 2 for two-way, 3 for three-way. Normally the last digit before the decimal. The three ways I have heard in years past had a clearer midrange. Some feel that they have less bass, but it's actually just that the mids are so much clearer. Once upon a time the three ways had a better tweeter, or the tweeter was just crossed over at a better optimized point.

i didn't look up the speakers you are looking for, buti f u say one is green and the other is the new silver ones, i can help, b/c i had both. The green ones sound nice and the basket is made differently, but the silver ones have thier own cross over that is comes with, even though it isn't a component set... I like my silver ones, but i upgraded to 3 ways.....
Thanks all for your help. But the 652.5I and 652.3I's are the same speaker I found out. It's a difference of one being older. The 3I's are older and they had a ever so slight design change so they changed the model # to .5I.
I don't need 3 ways for the rear. It's just fill back there. I have 3 ways in the front and I have tweets. Only reason you would put 3 ways in the rear is for the people sitting in the back seat. It's a waste of money and I personally can give 2 ****s how is sounds sitting in the back.
