Minor kills - the best thing
Minor kills - the best thing
about dropping someone with the max is the look of disbelief that you're pulling away THAT fast. Twice today I had a dork who was weaving through traffic start tailgating me, I guess to encourage me to go faster (I was already going 75 in a 65). Their encouragement worked - I floored it both times, and while ripping up to about 100 watched a 2k3 V6 Honda and later an Integra (dunno what year) fade from view in the mirror.
The drivers were stunned - one guy looked down at his dashboard like he was looking for an engine warning light to explain why he wasn't staying with me
Not that either of these was particularly competition, but still fun.
Anti-street-racing disclaimer: Yes, the road in front of me was clear. No, I did not endanger any other drivers. No, I don't make a habit of street racing (hell, normal driving in Houston would probably be considered racing in other parts of the country)

Where were you doing this? I usually have this kind of opportunity on I-10, just west of Katy.

Hey bubba, I said I have the opportunity there, not that I actually run it. I am curious where else in this god-forsaken city of traffic that this is possible.

Both of these were on Beltway 8 between I-10 and 290 (not during rush hour).

I got a chance at my own "kill" for the first time on Wednesday night. I was driving up the interstate, in the middle lane doing 65 (the limit was 55), no traffic in front, just one car trailing, well this guy pulls into the right lane and speeds past me, he was driving a Cadillac Deville or something like that. Passing on the right is a huge pet peeve, especially when he could have gone to the left, I would not have cared. Well he decides to take me on the right, and, gets about 3 car lengths ahead, so, I gun it, remember I have only had this car for a week and this was the first time I had taken it out on the highway, anyway, the engine wailed like a banshee, the front end lifted slightly and, I passed him at 95 before either of us new what had happened
. The look on his face was priceless, the look on mine was a mixture a unadulterated joy and abject fear
, I am still smiling, can't wait for the CAI.

You definately need a front wing

would you care to elaborate on that?, when I said the front end lifted, I didn't mean the entire front end lifted off the ground, I meant that when I hit the gas the car seemed to squat on the rears, prolly just the body moving, all 4 tires were in contact with the road.

Well you are still loosing some traction. You need a wing it definatley helps. Set to around 25 degrees, that setting also helps with day to day driving.

Not to ruin it you foo'! To get all the use you can out of that purchase. Let's see:
1. Front wing
2. Snow-plow
3. Bug/rock deflector
4. etc.
5. etc.
Nothing like a multipurpose item!

I really can't understand half of the things they sell for riced out civics and such nowadays. You got the unpainted flimsy kits that flutter at highway speeds, the fart can exhaust, the whack homemade paint jobs, salad bar wings.....

If I ever need to work or live anywhere near that area, the first thing that goes is the 5-speed. No way would I drive a stick around there.
