A supposedly knowledgeable friend of mine says that getting sway bars and strut bars for my 2001 Maxima SE would only be a wase of money. Most people tell me that I'll feel a considebale difference after installing those parts but my friend insists that it is a waste of tim and money. He say the same holds true for an intake system as well. He said something about having to adjust the tuning once an intake is installed. What do you guys think?

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about. Strut bars don't do enough to have adjustability or to upset the balance of the car enough. Minor mod at most.

Sway bars(espeically a set) is already "tuned" by the maker in terms of stiffness. But again none of the bar makers really build alot of stiffness into their sets anyway. Too dangerous for the general public.

It is possible to have swaybars that are much too stiff but again they aren't available for the maxima anyway.

Again this guy either knows nothing in general or knows nothing about maximas(or both!)

he doesn't know a thing...or

he is not one of us.... a Car Guy...

the strut bars are for added body stiffness... good
The Swaybars are to reduce body roll... good
The intake is to increase air into the engine.... good

The a normal guy all this would not be worth spending hundred of dollars on... but to us... it's all worth it.
