how many bolts hold on the thermostat housing?

i tried taking off the thermostat housing to change the thermostat but it wouldn't come off. i got 4 bolts off and it still wouldn't budge. is there another bolt i'm missing or is it just stuck on there really hard. i think last time the thermostat was changed the person used a gasket sealant instead of a normal gasket.
thanks

looks like just those 4 bolts holding it on
it's probably just the gasket holding it on now

I drew up a quick sketch of what the whole assembly looks like (for the VG). I hope this helps

i think it should just be the 4 bolts...i just changed my thermostat...2 times in 4 hours (first time it started leaking water)...

Mine was the original stat and the housing only had sealant on it and no rubber gasket.

See if you can tap it a bit with a hammer and if it comes lose...
