New shocks for the rear

My 85 was converted to non-electronic shocks 100,000 miles ago. Now just the back shocks are bad. They bounce like crazy. What is a good cheap shock replacement?

Quite honestly, you don't want to go cheap. I learned this the hard way from what my dad did. The front struts had to be replaced, and since my car had the electronic adjust, he didn't want to spend the fortune it cost at the time. So he went to les schwab and had them convert them to standard shocks up front. BAD MOVE. The front end now bounces too much because the shocks are way too soft.

Anyway, if you want a set a decent shocks. The ones to get are the KYB GR2. This will provide a good ride while still giving you some performance at the same time.

If you're just going for the rear, you should probbily get the same brand as the front.

I do know what you mean about the price for replacing adjustables. I have adjustables on my 84Z and I wasn't gonna pay nissan's price. so I have some Toykio Blues on order. from what i hear, they are a better shock than the KYB's and not all that much more expencive.

Tokico's are nice but they don't make them for the 2nd gen Maxima any longer.
