Clutch fluid contaminated (black and watery)?

I went out last night and while driving I lost my clutch. The peddal would stick to the floor and i couldnt change the gears. So I finally got it parked and then the peddal wouldnt come back up at all. So i checked the fluid resevoir and it was bone dry (problem found) so i put fluid in it and i regained the peddal again and I could shift again. But after filling it up i noticed that the fluid was contaminated (black and watery). Why would it be like that and why all the sudden did I loose fluid?

Because you probably never changed your clutch fluid since 1993.

BTW. you have leak somewhere. Check the slave, the rubber hose and inside the firewall for ms leaks.

No its been changed 3 times since 93' and the last time it was changed was back in May02' or June02' and i also replaced the slave unit and cluch master cylinder back then too. But ill double chech to see if something has gone bad (like rubber or something). Thanks for the reply
