hi- im new here. i am getting a 97 maxima and i had a few questions and it seems like this is the place to ask. I know that i know nothing about cars so you dont have to tell me.

there are a few things i want to chage to this car.

1. change the amber lights to clear.

just looking for a place to purchase and where i could get it installed

2. put on a spoiler

i know i can get one from a website for 200 painted. i looking to see how much it would cost to be put on and where i could get that done.

3. get alloy wheels

any websites anyone could recoment and how much this would be

4. get glow gauges

i like the look of the newer maximas having white gauges and i found these on ebay- are they any good? if not where can i get them, also where would i get them installed?

5. paint the whole car.

wondering what an estamate would be for a good paint job

6. audio. it has a tape deck and thats it. looking to put a cd player in. should i get the factory nissan or buy a kenwood or something? i saw this on ebay:

all this would be done over time. im just wondering where i could get these things done and where the BEST prices would be.

what model car are you getting and for how much? And why dont you get one that has what you are looking for?

 

its a 97 gxe. im getting it for 7000. i could get one that has everything i need for 10, but its kind of out of my price range. i will taking a loan out for whats left over from the insurance check. i have to pay for my college and everything. so i figure i can save up for this stuff. NOW is when i need the car cause classes start on wed for me. so im kind of in a rush....wasnt expecting to total my car.

i read all that- the gauge link doesnt work- thaqts why i asked about that- i see it cost more then a grand to get it painted- so i guess thats out of the question- i know now to get diamond cut clears.

basically i just wanted to know some people opinion on the ebay links for the gauges, also where to get them put in, and if its easy enough for me to do, and how much.

and how much it is to put on the spoiler ill order for 200from spoiler depot.com

 

Do it all yourself. Except for painting. The rest is easy enough.

 

if i could i definitly would. im tight on $. anyone know where i could get info on how to install a spoiler, clear lights, and the gauge things, i thougth that part would be illegal.

Then keep it stock--nobody is forcing you to spend thousands to make your car look like the car you can't afford? I don't understand what you are talking about? You are buying a car in a color you don't want, without the cd and spoiler that you DO want? Grow up and get your priorities straight please

 

1.3.4 You can get aftermarket parts like clear corners from custommaxima.com, ebay, or the classified section on this board.

2 Never had a spoiler put on but a body shop could definately do it for you.

5 A good paint job is gonna cost you 2000 and up.

6 Just get an aftermarket deck. I've had good luck with Alpine. You won't be able to easily upgrade to the Bose system. After market is better anyways.
