hi there...well after my tran. problem fixed(all fluid remplace, drain, clean, additive, etc)...i have on mind that question. Why my automatic transmission is hard to shift when the weather is cold(1C, 5Celcius). after a 5 minutes on driving the tranny is ok.



Another question dudz. If you have automatic trans. maxima 95-99 and you are going at 70 mph...or 55 mph...and then you dont acelerate anymore with the foot on the pedal...........the rpms go to 1000rpms? after a few seconds...like you car goes in N?

 

All of the AutoMagic trannys have hard shifts when their cold. Using synthetic fluid helps smooth them out a bit.

Your cars torque converter will not lock up until the transmission is up to operating temp. Thats why your RPM's drop like that when it's very cold. Once the T.C. is locked, your RPM's will stay exactly where they are when you let off the gas.

 

oks i will warm up the car before leave me house..

 

Idling doesn't warm up the transmission that much, you have to drive it to get the tranny temp up. On cold mornings, after a brief warm up in the driveway, sometimes it takes a good 5 - 7 miles before mine will lock up.

 

yeah i understand you...before i didnt wait my tranny to warm up..and it works ok...right now i dont know why i have to wait some miles to work fine. What is T.C. dudz
