GB: KYB AGXs -- TORONTO, CANADA ONLY

hello all!

I think I may have finally secured a decent price, but there
will still be some effort on my behalf to get these to Toronto.

Now that I have received box dimensions and weights, I'm
thinking that we have two or three packages sent to two
or three locations in Canada.

Basically, I'm thinking one or two packages come to my
house in Toronto, and another can maybe go to Mike in
Ottawa (Blaxxxima)?

What do you guys think?

so far, those interested are:

Basically, I will receive the goods in NYC, re-pack them, and ship
via FedEx (er, something like that) to my house...

However, it breaks down like this:

- set of KYB AGXs --> $340 US (actually, a little cheaper... shhh!)
- shipping from NYC to Toronto --> approximately $60
- taxes and duty --> equals 21% of total VALUE of goods (so, it depends on how we classify them ).
- brokerage fees --> guessing $40 US

GRAND TOTAL -- for 6 sets --> $2040 + 60 + 120 + 40 = 2260 US or about $3460 or about $580 CDN!!!

couple things to note:
-- duty is still undetermined.
-- taxes are still undetermined.
-- shipping is based on 60lbs (100cm X 50cm X 50cm)

so...who's in?

FLO_BOY
Is this good for 5th gen max ? I might take a set !

Let me know

Cheers

I understand...I'm excited too...

However, we're waiting on a price from a local shop --
I'd rather spend the extra few $$$ and have a local place
to ***** too should anything go wrong (knocking on wood).

I am very interested. Just a few questions regarding your breakdown of the cost. I recalled Felix said that a set of those struts/shocks weighs about 35 lbs, 6 sets will be 200 lbs!!! The cost for the shipping will be higher, please double check. Also, 21% of taxes and duty of 2040 US = 428.4 US!!!

Recalculation : 2040 + (200/60 x 60)shipping cost + 428.4 + 40 = 2708.4 US. Assume a 1.55 exchange rate, total cost in canadian=~700 cdn. This is actually quite close to my original estimate.

As I said, I am interested. Please verify the shipping cost a bigger load. I suspect we will have more than 6 people want to buy the AGX's. Thanks for the effort for setting up this GD.

Hey Flo

You should keep a running list on the first post of all the names of those people who are interested. Will make the efforts easier to coordinate.

Like I've said before, I don't mind doing the Montreal hook up for some people. I can do the T.O. trip / Montreal trip some day over a weekend, or space it out over 2-3 weekends, if some guys aren't desperate.

OR, even better, I pick em up in T.O. and someone from Montreal comes to Ottawa to pick them up. That would likely be the most amicable solution.

OK -- some notes:

1) I won't declare the full value on the customs forms...so, less tax and less duty

2) shipping 3 sets at a time will run about $100 CDN. so, for 6 sets we're looking at $200 CDN for shipping.

So...some more calculations:

$329/set (X6) = $1974 or $3029 CDN
Shipping = $ 200 CDN
6% Duty = $ 36 or $56

TOTAL (6 sets)= $3285 or $547.50/set

thoughts?

The only thought i have is put it together, bish!

Actually, since that's 9 Canadians (likely confirmed - boyz, do you have the $$ now, so we can get this done anytime?), I'm sure we can piggyback a few Yanks on this to make it a sure thing.

Yanks? Yanks? we don't need no stinking Yanks!!!
No, seriously, this is how it'll go down:

1) everyone would give me about $600.00
2) I'd order the parts and have them delivered to my hotel in NYC.
3) I'd re-pack the order, fill out customs forms, and ship to my house.
4) After calculating all the costs (which I'll document) I'll write
"Rebate" checks for the balance.

make sense? please note -- I'm not making any money here...nor am I
getting a better deal -- Yes, I am a moron -- but a nice one!!! you benefit!!!

so is the price estimated to be more or less than $600?
will we be paying any duties if you're shipping them?

Thanks for clearing up my query on the shipping cost. I guess it is OK to declare a lower price on the goods. A word of caution, make up something reasonable or the custom MIGHT hold the goods and ask you to go down town to chat. Based on the duty that you calculated, the declare price is 600 or 700 Cdn for 6 sets!!! It may not fly. Just like everyone else, I hate paying taxes. However, I just do not want the goods be hold up by custom and we have to pay penalty (ransom!) to get the shocks. Nevertheless, I have to say that I love the price that you put down.

Hey guys, check his out. Brian catts can do $550CAD for 4th gen, or $655 for '00-'03 complete set of agx's. Both are plus shipping of course. The only thing to worry about is duties. Here the thread:

Sounds like what we need here is somebody to smuggle these puppies in... Anybody up to it? Tape them to the bottom of your car, up in the wheel gap, remove the spare and put some in there... Who knows, if i do go to NY, i might try this out...
