Not to flame, but isn't it a bit late now? Shouldn't this have been done before the purchase?

Am I missing something here? Why don't you run your own? Those things cost money. Why would somebody else pay for your CarFax report? That's like $15/$19. Maybe somebody has some sort of free connection here or something.

Why didn't you run a carfax before buying. It's kinda useless now if you did it after the sale. What if there were past damages etc. on the car? You'd be stuck with it.

He bought it at an auction, so that may have been difficult. At any rate, it is still nice to know what went on with the car.

True. I hear that. It may ahve been difficult when buying from an auction. But me personally, I would have ran a carfax before the purchase. I'd would like to know the past history of the car. But thats just me. To each is own. As long as he's happy with his purchase. BTW Congrats on your purchase. You from CT also? Where abouts?

I dont know how many of you have gone to dealer auctions, but its kinda hard to get reports on every car there. although, if the car has damage and they dont tell you about it is called FRAUD. Now lets have all the flamers say that together F-R-A-U-D.

To all others, the report came back clean. fyi $16K loaded

Dont you also have to pay the $200-300 auction fee, pay your dealer for bringing you there from $150-300, and take the risk of having it inspected? I am sure that will be close to 18K "on the road".

Remember a carfax report is not a gaurantee that the car has not been damaged. It is a gaurantee that the title is clean. Two different things as I found out.
