OMG!! A little help finding the idle adjustment screw on my stutterin 92se 5sp please

I found the Throttle control sensor. I have a chilton's and I found some pics online via the faq, but damned if I can't find this screw on my actual car. Is it a phillips screw? What is it actually on? What is it next to ? Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's pretty much directly below the TB, under the black ridged piping. It's almost a brass color...

It's one of those deals where you can use a flathead or phillips on it, with the flathead 'ridge' going the length of it. Around the circumfrance of it it's got ridges (like on the sides of coins)...it faces the front of the car. Hope you find it.

James12345, I've been meaning to ask you, did you get rid of your sky blue Max or did you paint it. If you painted, how much did it set you back? I'm thinking of getting my white max painted black, but want to job to last, you know quality.

Not to kill your buzz, but I've adjusted my idle control both ways and it hasn't helped yet. Right now I've got it almost all the way open.

There are random times where the idle will be perfectly smooth right under 1500, and I know this is when it's actually paying attention to my setting. Most of the time it just does whatever the f*** it feels like.

No I still have it sitting on jackstands with no suspension or brakes in the driveway. I need to put all the stock stuff back on it and sell it.

I bought Flyry's Max...and switched over all the mods, then I'm selling the sky blue one as a stocker.

Hey, I've got to try something. It's a f*ckin scam that this pos car does this on such a widespread basis. I am SERIOUSLY thinking of never touching a Nissan product again.

I had the same problem. I think it was caused by a loose throttle sensor screw, and once tightend I followed the proceedure in the SM to move the throttle sensor so that it was sync'd with the idle. See pages EC&EF 161 and 164. Having said that, after I did the adjustment it still ran at 1000, until the next day when it decided to run a smooth 750. May have been luck, or it may have been that the ECU stores info and adjusts the fuel ratio on a moving basis.

Good luck,

Stephen

Mine is not brass looking, it does have the ridges, but it's grey. I fixed my rough Idle by replacing a leaky intake manifold gasket, also, my fuel rail were missing those little plastic insulators/spacers, which causes the screws that hold the rails down to back off over time and leak air past the injectors.

I was replaced the TPS as well. My idle issues are all gone now.
