Simple Question? Kinda dumb question but simple

I had my mechanic run a diagnostics check on my car. Would transmission problems show up on a diagnostics check?

what diagnostic did he run?? the tranny self-diagnostic is performed totally different from the ECU diagnostic(the red/green light flasehes)...so if he just did the ECU diagnostic than you won't see tranny codes.

Tranny diagnostic

There is a tranny computer present in our cars (at least for auto tranny ones). The diagnostic for this computer was described by Craig here
