Swapping the Max TB with an Infiniti Q45 TB??

Can this be actually done?? has anyone done it?? any noticable gains??? hard/easy to do??

Anything can, but thats a 75mm TB and the TPS, linkage etc is different, it would be quite a PIA. And you can only bore the intake to ~68mm so it would be over kill.

75mm? yea i'd have to say that'd be a definite overkill. didn't know the TB was that big on those cars.

OK, well I think its time Cheston updates his website then... if its that much of a PITA to do, then I'm not sure if I wanna try this myself....

Are there any gains from doing something like this??

Not unless your running boosted or your engine has a displacement greater than 3 liters. If you follow the VQ series increase in TB size you will find that a 3 liter has a 60mm TB and the 3.5 liter has a 70mm. Theoretically if we follow this series a Q45 75mm TB could conceivably supply enough air to feed a 3.75 liter VQ. However my intuition tells me that TB size vs. engine displacement is not linear so that would explain why the older Q45 enignes have a 4.1L displacement using a 75mm TB.
