ROTORS: Stillen’s CRACKED! What Next?

I installed stillen cross-drilled rotors less than 5000 miles ago and they have cracks all over them. I wanted slotted, but was in a rush and stillen is close by. o well. Anyway, I want to get some slotted rotors ASAP. From what I’ve read, my options are Powerslots and Race Concepts (any others?). I think I’m getting the slotted rotors from Race Concepts, but I have a few questions.

My Axxis Ultimate pads aren’t worn down much and I would like to use them with the new rotors if possible. Will it be ok if I just deglaze the pad by sanding it, clean everything, and break them in well? I’ve heard people say you can and you cant, so I was just looking for fresh info. Also, will race concepts cryo-treat them? Anywhere in the LA area that will?

You can reuse the pad, deglazing would be recommended for sure. Everything else should be fine.

I use powerslots on a different car. They've been awesome after about 10k. No warping, no cracks. Stopping is smooth as silk. Best rotors I've ever used.

The key is to break them in nicely. Not like doing a stop from 100+mph to Zero the 2nd day you get the rotors on. I did that and warped my Slotted rotors.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. Is it true that both companies use the same emc blanks? Is there really much of a difference between the two? I think the race concepts ones are cheaper and they are in santa ana so i think im going w/ those.

Also, what about cryo-treatment. Where can i get this done and do you think its worth it?

I'm thinking i might get some SS lines and change my brake fluid at the same time. Motul 600 is good right? Any better brand i should consider?

I'm in the LA area. Cost isn't too big of an issue. I'm expecting to spend $200-300 on rotors (just front), lines, and fluid, but i can deffinately go higher.

hmm, you heard of Rotora? they make stock replacements for our cars, slotted i think...once i get all my stuff hooked up properly im gonna be getting sponsored by them...i was askn if they could hook up a BBK for us but that whole demand problem....their kits go for like 1500-1600 on accords and stuff so thats better price than stillen and i wouldnt doubt their quality either...but if you wanna try those, i can get you a price on em...the HQ is in City of Industry on Gale
