I was back in the mainland in oct. I had my 89' BMW 318.
and i raced my buddy in his dangerous (hahaha) I4 galant.
He couldn't leave me. And it was a race from VA to MD.
I think it was car and driver that said that the galant had

jeezus, they're friggin retarded. i also hang out on the eclipse forum, and the moment that even a smidgen of BS is sensed, the rest of the board members jump on the culprit like a bunch of vultures. a while back, some guy in a V6 stick eclipse claimed to have beaten an auto 2k2 max. those cars are at least in the same ballpark - if the 2k2 really screwed up, i can see that happening. but no, they really just tee-ed off on the guy - 78 posts i remember, just ripping him to shreds....and then you have these galant guys believing that a 140 hp galant beat a 255 hp maxima on a high speed run.

Maybe someone should post the links of the 2k vs 2k3 racing. Where we are going past the 120mph speed governor that he's claiming on the Maxima. I thought he SE maximas didn't have a speed governor. If they do, sure isn't at 120, 'cause in those vids we hit 135 mph and let off then. They must have a hellova top end.

The 6 spds don't have one but my auto hits one at 130 and hangs but doesn't cut back or anything. I am not worried though b/c I will not be travelin 130+ to much

Well I'll start and finish with one note..... max speed limit of 130 my 4 banger does not have a limit...whoops at last check before tuning the top was 136. So yes your car was walked by a 4 cyc SOHC motor whos next?

let me tell you something here - my sister has a 97 galant - with the same motor that goes in your POS car. that thing is SUUUHHHHLLOOOWWW. i wouldn't race a jogger in that car. there is no friggin way that it would even come remotely close to a max at ANY speed. i've gone 100 plus in that rattly piece of sh*t, and it's got to take a full minute to get from 100-110. face it *****, you have a 17 second car, one of the slowest times that a sedan ever puts out nowadays. you are outclassed by 115 hp and the 2k2 max is a few bolt on mods away from doubling your power output. you must be lead one of hell of a life if you are as delusional about the rest of your life aspects as you are about your car. it's people like you that give car enthusiasts a bad name. you own a POS car that is loud and slow. the car community shouldn't even recognize galants and no one should ever give attention a driver like you.

 

dumba$$, you listed spark plugs as a mod, so i wouldn't talk. i bet your ego, i mean your "big heart" makes your car go faster too. you should list that in your mods.

seriously, what's with these people these days. the other week, we had that guy in a stock jetta claiming he mopped a 2k2, and now this guy with a gay a$$ galant? why do we even pay attention? 140hp v. 255hp. PUHHH-LEEAAASSEEE. i miss the days of Russ - at least CL-S v. Maxima is a close, legitimate race
