I think it's a CL-S 6spd. I think I saw these pics at www.acura-cl.com a few days ago.

He probably got beat by a turbo civic and decided that the "all motor" idea was a bad one

mounted properly?
oh come on!

BTW flex section kills flow. you can gain up to 5-10% more air flow without it. remember that. a little known trick of the dsm world

i wanna see dyno sheets of this car when its done. i am overly impressed with the turbo maxima's now.

all motor sucks

Turbo on top of VTEC?? Add a little slice of headers. Can you imagine the top end on that? It must be insane If I were a turbo Maxima, I'd try to get the jump on that VTEC Turbo as much as I can before the VTEC kicks in. Holy jumping cam profiles, Batman!

I am curious where you got this information from? All of the major DSM exhaust shops (Buschur, Hahn Race Craft, RRE, etc) all sell their exhaust with flex sections. Is this something that someone flow tested?

got the info from archer racing. the grand daddy of dsm tuning.

you know why they sell them like that?
because the motor flexes the mounts.

now if you put in solid mounts, the motor doesn't move, hence no need for flex pipe.

even energy suspension inserts on the sides and filled ones in the front and rear do the same thing. less flex.

flex sections are a little over priced for the work that they do.

but yes, it is true.

my boy Rob in my car club has a 294hp all motor CL-S 2door 6spd. He toasts pretty much anything on the road! Hes got CAI, cat back exhaust and headers.

Hes thinking about getting a supercharger put on by his dealer, its gonna run him around $4g with FULL ACURA Warranty too

mmm...I just checked out Archer and all of their down pipes have flex sections. I am not trying to prove you wrong, but even if the gains in flow are true; how much horsepower do you think that equals? 2-3whp maybe - max? I understand the whole motor mount thing as well, but unless you use a fixed/metal mount to the frame, the engine is still going to move. Seems like the benefits of not using a flex section in a streetcar are not worth it.

Now if you are building a racecar – you have a point. But at that stage, why have exhaust at all?

Not saying you're lying or anything but 294 is an awful lot for those few mods.

...Unless that is flywheel hp you are talking about.

294 hp would be at the crank, w/ listed mods.

i'm sure my auto is putting out over 300 at the crank.

the allmotor name comes from his allmotor 11 sec. civic hatch he used to have.

beware the boosted cl-s, my maxima friends

Funny thing is that the ONE and ONLY CL-S turbo doesn't even have a dyno, track times or videos of his current BS kills. There is no excuse not to have a dyno at very least.

Maybe you missed the last Turbo Maxima to dyno:

That is putting down DOUBLE the HP and TQ to the wheels than 99.9% of CL-S. And is about 400lbs lighter than your two door pig. You honestly think that buddy with the CL-S Turbo is putting down that power now?

No need to get upset. Just bring it. I'm sure there'll be plenty of turbomaxes for you to race. Let me warn you tho... our VQ engines are alot stornger than you think in stock form and we respond well to mods. Btw... what's the compression on a CL-S? Probably alot higher than ours, and if it is better watch that boost.....BOOM!

the reason allmotor has no dyno is because he just finished the setup. he is just now running it wot. soon there will be numbers and track times, so just wait. he was also the first 6mt to run 13's n/a.

there will soon be a few sc'd cl-s too, just around the corner.

remember, these mods are just now being made available to us, besides the custom turbo setup, so give us a little time.

yeah but does it make sense to make a general statement to a thread that a has 90% for CL-S and 10% against?

you are only going to **** off the other 90% and cause 100% bashing against the CL-S

Definately not hating. Almost bought one before we got my wife's 2K1. Almost bought one again before I bought my 97 5 speed. They're definately nice cars, but for what I need, the max is just a better choice at the right price. Definately no hating here. I still love the CL-S.
