Does anyone know the current draw for Autometer gauges??
any type of gauge will do! I going to use my cousins power converter to power several devices in the car, including the gauges, so I wanna make sure I can use it before I take it. BTW its got a 10 amp capacity. thanks

I don't get what you are trying to do. The gauges will only get readings if the car is running. Why would you want to use power convertor to run 12V gauges? There is something missing here. More info please =) As for current draw, it depends if it's electric or mechanical. Electric will draw alittle more since it needs to send signals to and from the sensor. The mechanical will draw some because of the light bulb that's inside. If you don't hook up the light, the mechanical one will work without electricity.

Come to think of it.....
would there be an easier way to install the 3 gauges(tranny temp, oil temp and air/fuel), I'm trying to avoid paying a shop....I just wanna know how and what to connect the three 12v power wires and lighting wires to. I plan to run a fused wire from the positive battery into the car to run two neon tubes, can I use that also for the gauges??
