real meaning of "Meets factory specifications"
real meaning of "Meets factory specifications"
I was recently looking over my last visit to my Nissan service center.
I had a whole list of problems I wanted them to investigate, including the transmission slipping, brake judder, etc.
They fixed some - could not find others
In their report they frequntly put "NPF - Meets Factory specifications".
I called ot ask what that meant and the service manager said - NPF means no problem found - but people don't like ot read that do we add the "meets factory specifcations" to make them feel better.
Apparently my slipping transmission "meets factory specifications", but 15 miles later when I dropped it off at another dealer (recommended by the .org) they agreed the transmission was slipping.
Taking it in on Monday to have transmission repairs done (at second dealer).
Beware the "meets factory specifications"

My SM originally told me the same thing. During the next couple of visits, I told him that it wasn't satisfactory and kept bringing up the TSB. On 3rd visit, they fixed it. SM was always friendly and respectful and wanted me to be happy with my car. I guess persistence paid off. Dealer has been great so far. Stick with the dealer that respects your complaints and takes care of them. There are some out there.
