How does a JL Audio 10W6 compare to a 12W3?
I currently have a JL Audio Prowedge CS112-W3 sub enclosure (sealed; one 12W3 sub; rated 250watts continuous). However, I want as much trunk space as possible so I am thinking of getting a Stealthbox (sealed; one 10W6 sub; rated 300watts continuous). I'm also using a Rockford Fosgate 500a2 amp (bridged 500watts) to feed the sub, so there will definitely be no under-powered sub issues.
How would the 10W6 compare to the 12W3? Tighter bass? More defined? Less boomy?

12w3 will give you MORE bass, get deeper playing, and 250 watts???? PSSHT...I ran 400 to my old one over a year and it pounded and was fine, it loved the power. 12w3 is a great sub, it kicks well, and goes pretty deep, its really a rather musical sub!

What I want to know is how the 10W6 compares.

From what I have read, the W3 is a better sub for SPL...meaning it will probably sound louder. Now you are replacing your single 12" with a 10"?? You will for sure lose some output, unless you go with a nice ported design and up the power on the w6. Like others say, you will get tigher, less boomy bass, with a smaller sealed setup, but at the price of giving up some overall output.
