Mine seems to be quite a bit lower than the other cars I've driven. And temperature seems to really affect it. On really cold days, it's less pressure than when it's not too cold.

Is weak windshield washer nozzle pressure a Maxima thing?

 

I got my car in the spring and througout the summer it seemed fine, it might just be me, but I think the pressure has decreased in the winter too. Nothing to get worried about though.

 

Compared to other cars, do you notice that the pressure is less?

 

one of my spitters is misaimed lol. it sucks. I keep trying to fix it, but nothing works...oh well....

 

Try sticking a thumbtack or needle into the nozzle to adjust the aim of them. I have a set of picks in my tool chest that I use.

But again, is it just me, or do the Maxima nozzles just have less pressure?

 

mine have enough pressure to break through thick layers of snow no prob.

you should replace your washer pump.

 

Nozzles can and eventually will get plugged if you add plain water to tank, due to contaminates. Always use quality clean window washer solvent, preferable all-season.

If the screen inside has failed or fallen off inlet tube, the lines may be plugged. if so, you will have to remove lines from nozzles and pump, and flush with pressurized air.

Clean nozzles with a small pin. Car wax can get in them. Replacement nozzle are $10-20 (non OEM).

You can re-aim them. Read manual.

If they had more pressure, they would pee all over the top of roof, or shoot inside the an open sunroof.

When all else fails, replace pump. Should be ~$20.00.

 

They totally suck. Ever seen other car's? It's so much better. Any other car. Nissan uses the cheapest spray system I have ever seen. I had a Ford Tempo when I was younger and it would spray out of one hole. It would spray very quickly back and fourth so the entire window would get sprayed. The wiper would move at a speed for the sprayer to work best.

I feel your pain.

When I am not moving, it sprays above my car. When I'm going 80 it sprays below the wipers.

I agree. They should fan out better. I wonder how those LED nozzle spray patterns are? I've seen them for $8.00/set at Wal-Mart. If they fanned out, one could install them without hooking up the lights.

My sister has a Ford Contour and my parents drive a Ford Areostar, and both the Contour and Maxima have the same problem in the winter, but like I said, it's not a huge problem. I wouldn't go as far as saying I would need new nozzles or a new pump.

One thing I noticed is that the intensity of the nozzles seems to be directly affected by the amount of fluid in the tank. The lower the fluid, the more wimpy the squirt. When the tank is completely full, it gives a nice, heavy spray.
