Dash board speedometer, RPM, ABS + chk engine lights doesn't work...
Recently my 96 auto Max with 157k miles is having electrical problems.
Once in a while the speedometer, RPM, power windows,
and all of the dash board lights like ABS, seat belt,
chk engine, etc doesn't work. However, the car starts
without a problem and the head lights work. If I turn
the accessory switch on and off a couple of times (not
starting the car), eventually the problem will go away.
And recently I got fault codes 11-1 (inhibitor switch)
and 3-4 (knock sensor).
I want to know if the electrical problem had caused these
two fault codes to appear maybe because the inhibitor
switch and the knock sensor both did not received the
proper voltage or current?
OR the inhibitor switch and the knock sensor both have
something wrong and is the reason why i'm experiencing
electrical problems?
Anyone had this problem before and will changing the
switch and sensor solve my dash board electrical problem?
Or is it some wire harness that is loose?

I had the same problem with my 2001 Honda Accord after I bought it.
It was a circuit board problem. I took out my dash and pushed on certain areas of the dash...the light may come on which may signal something loose or the circuit board has problems.
Worked for me and Honda ordered a new one under waranty.
