Shifting a 6sp for best track results

What method do you guys use when quick shifting at the track? Do you get on and off the clutch as quickly as possible or do you get on fast and let it back out a little slower to prevent wheel spin.

My first time at any strip was at 75-80 in MD. Traction was so bad that I thought I was spinning in 1st, 2nd and maybe even 3rd. I saw some runs where I thought the drivers were granny-shifting but maybe they were just trying to keep traction.

I can't wait for the tracks to open up again!
