People with Progress springs/kyb agx's

please post pics of this setup and your impressions of overall ride from the car. How does it compare to SE ride, and how is the drop? How many fingers/inches???

I have SEARCHED for hours on this subject and want some newer answers now. THanks for the info!!!

I got GXE. on normal road, ride comfort is close to my stock (on my 15"). will get progressively worse on bumpier road. since you've searched for hours, all I want to say is that the ride is very comfortable on normal road.

by the way, you got a very nice SE (sterling mist exterior and black-on-black interior)

I love the progress/agx combo on my '97 SE. There are pics on my cardomain page. The ride is firm with front agx at 2 and rear at 4. Great for relatively smooth roads. There's very little roll on highway sweeping bends. If you want a more comfy ride, adjusting the front agxs to 1 makes a big difference. My wifey says with that setting it's a lot more comfy than 2. Gotta love those adjustable struts! I haven't measured the gap in front/rear so I don't have any numbers for you.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it!!

Syc, as far as it progessively gets worse on bumpier roads...it will get worse as the springs break in? Or it gets that much worse? I dont have too many bumpy roads around here (surprisingly I think CO has decent roads).

Sounds look its the combo Im looking for though. The best part is teh back wont sag. Thats the main thing I was looking for with a good lowering job. On my 95 auto i have the b&g's and the ride isnt bad and it lowered the car AWESOME I think, but the back would sag on me in the 5spd Im sure.

Thanks for the comments on the car! I love it, now if I can just get it to looking a bit better............at least, in my eyes

Thanks again.

I dont have any pics but i have had kyb's and progress's since around june and i love them...i have them set on 2 front/4 rear with 215/17/40's. The ride is kinda stiff due to the low sidewall, but unless I get on REALLY bumpy roads I havent had any conplaints from passengers. I have had a couple people complain on BUMPY roads but i just tell them....I LIKE IT THAT WAY. When i had the stock wheels on there it was definitly stiffer, but not bad. If you have low profile tires you will have a stiff ride unless you turn the stiffness down a bit.

like StygianMax said, adjusting the setting on the AGX with this spring will change the ride a lot.

yeah, the best part is the rear won't sag! good for putting heavy audio system on the back. i don't know about break in, I got the spring used. comfortable on smooth road, and yet, pretty good when cornering hard.

the drop is beautiful for 15" and 16" (aggressive look -front lower than back). but if I get a 18" or something, I will think the gap on the back is too big for me.

i have a 99 se-l, with the agx and progress springs, i think it's the best setup ther eis for the money, good drop, but not too low, it will ride stiffer, noticably, but i like the stiff ride i have mine set at 3 front and 5 rear. If your driving around town alot i don't know if i would keep them at 5 in the rear, i'm thinking to switch them back to 4 in the rear, for highway driving i would say the higher setting the nicer, but that's just me, either way you'll love the setup

do you guys with progress notice its not that stiff really. i have my agx on 3/4 and a FSTB, ( should get a rsb ) but i still see a bit of body roll on S curves (fun on-ramps).
lane changing and everything else is pretty solid though!
all in all progress good for the price.

eibach is where its at for superior handling though. as far as i know, my brother has eibachs on nasty tokicos on his camry, with trd bars, and at least 7.5" wheels on pretty good kumhos and that car is ON RAILS. wheels could be wider, tires could be better, but eibachs are real nice for handling.

Sounds great guys. Anyone got any links to pics though on STOCK wheels, or 215/55/16's anywhere??? Id like to see what that gap looks like. Ride wise this sounds like the way to go, but its just the drop.

Stygian Max.....what size are those wheels/tires you got?

Again guys, thanks for the info.

The stuff I found when searching was helpful but was kinda out of date, werent many recent threads on progress springs, or at least that I found useful. Thanks again guys!

i have pics of the drop with my stock se wheels, im me tomorrow, i'mm studying for a test now, well actually i'm taking a break...........in reply to the other post, i really don't notice any real body roll with normal driving, but with S curves you will notice body lean anyway, just depending how much

I have the Progress/AGX set 2,4. I have a 5speed, the drop in the front is slighlty lower than the rear, I like the look. Handling is very good, and the ride is very smooth. Gets bumpy over rough roads, as this will happen with any stiff spring/shock setup. I have pics of my install at

www.eden.rutgers.edu/~mitch33x

These pics were taken during, an hour, and a day after the installation. The car sits slightly lower now (8 months later).

In the summer, I ride on 215/55/16 Toyo FZ4 (I know, not the greatest tire). Pics are on my homepage if you want to see the wheel gap. The Enkei wheels are 7" wide.
