Rid of squishy brake feel

I am wondering if anyone knows how to take the squishy feel out of the brakes. My brakes are in good shape, I think it may be just the way the car is built (but let me know how yours are). My brakes only gradually grab so i have to push them down about half way for the car to stop. I am wondering if a)this is normal, and b) if there is a way to modify the brakes so they are much touchier? thanks

Take your car down to a trusted mechanic or Nissan dealer and have them FLUSH/bleed your brake system w/ new brake fluid. If the fluid is low, have then check the reason why you are losing fluid. Poor performance could also be from worn front/rear pads and brake calipers that are sticking.
