Any Maxima Expert Knows How To Program.........

Does anyone know how to program 1999 maxima key? I just bought a new key from dealer and they told me it need to be programed, in order for it to start my car. I didn’t try the key yet. are they lying about this or they right about it? Then if that’s right, how do i program the key, so it starts the car?

I think a dealer is the only place with the equipment necessary to program the chip so that it can be used to start the car. Otherwise, all it would be able to do is to unlock doors and trunk. I could be wrong on this though, but I've never read about anyone being able to to this themselves.

I think what you talking about had to do with programing the remote keyless entry. but thanks for the help.
