Throttle Cable Gone Bad? Help!!

Here is another call for help after placing a post two months ago and only one reply.

I have a 99 SE limited and am having problems with the acceleration.

There is a lot of free play in the pedal while trying to depress the pedal.

And the feeling while i am pushing it is not smooth - it feels like a binding or friction like maybe the cable is sticking - kind of a vibration feeling.

Can anyone tell me what is going on - the dealers are not helping.

I just want the response and pep back in the pedal again.

Any Tips or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

THROTTLE CABLE

HEY,

A DEALER ALREADY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY BUT I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS A FULL THROTTLE SERVICE THAT WAS COMPLETED. I WASN'T CHARGED ANYTHING FOR THE HOUSING GETTING CLEANED SO I DON'T KNOW IF THE JOB WAS HALF-ASSED OR NOT A FULL CLEANING. ALSO, A COUPLE DEALERS HAD ADJUSTED THE CABLE WHICH IMPROVED THE FEELING IN THE PEDAL BUT THAT FEELING WENT AWAY AND THE CAR DROVE LIKE CRAP AGAIN. - THAT'S WHY I THINK MAYBE THE CABLE IS OVERSTRETCHED OR MAYBE THE THROTTLE BODY WASN'T CLEANED RIGHT. WHAT IS YOUR SUGGESTION? SHOULD I REPLACE THE CABLE?? THANKS.

The only thing from experience I can tell you is to do the throttle body cleaning yourself this time... go here to find out how to do it and it comes w/ pics too:

Have you had the same symptoms or problems with your acceleration before? Or is this just a suggestion? Thanks!
