Straight Pipe or Randall Hi-flow Catalytic...?

I have a 97 Maxima. I plan on installing the Greddy Catback and I was going to buy the Randall Hi-flow catalytic converter, but I noticed that Custom Maxima's straight-pipe is signficantly cheaper. Is the straight-pipe louder than the Randall?

Which one is better?

Does anyone know where I can find the Greddy for cheaper than $535?

I always say this. Please don't kill my future children. Please run a catalytic converter. Please! We need the air.

Not true. I had a WSP test pipe along with a WSP ypipe, then later a Cattman ypipe, never did got a check engine light.

I say get the test pipe because in my experience I felt some gain with the test pipe while I didn't feel a thing with the high flow cat.

Having a Cat as opposed to a straight pipe should help to quiet things down a bit, I think warpspeed sells some high flow cats for like 100$ (carsound). I couldn't imagine it being more than a 1-2 hp difference from the RT.

er... I just read your spelling of "Randall Hi-flow cat." is that a typo of random technology or just a different brand?

Get the straight pipe for a little bit more gains than the high-flow cat. The high-flow will be significantly quieter. As for the Greddy, you can get it a little bit cheaper for $520 at www.optionsauto.com.

As for the GReddy, shoot an email to sales@mmsnyc.net. Send him a link to the lowest price you found, and he will beat it.

As for the cat, I think you mean 'Random' not 'Randall'...and I would go with the cat your state has emissions testing. Not to mention its good for the environment
