Car wont rev past 2000 rpm
When i give it gas it just bogs out past 2000grand ..but when i unplug thye maf it revs past 2000rpm fine it justs run rich as ****....So me and my friend thought it was a head gasket because there was oil in the water which one head indid up being craked ...so I went ahead and ordered all new gaskets and seals for the whole car...We rebuilt the heads did Porting and polishing on the heads .. Ported the exhaust manifold polished the throttle body...slap new gaskets on put a whole complete exhaust finally got my lowering springs...slaped everything on it and its still doing the same damn thing.. Ive tryed 4 mafs from a Junk yard ...Tps sensors...Iac..whole Dist..and even borowed my friend ecu from his car to see if itll work...all of this still made no diffrence..oh ive also did a fuel psi check it came out to 50 psi
if you can please help me out it will be much needed...
thanks

Yes, this is the most likely cause. You ECU is dumping you into 'Limp Home Mode', due to incorrect information from the MAF. Try a new MAF, or even a MAF from a known good running car.
If all else fails, pull the ECU from under the seat, and run the diags on it...see what comes up...

That is defintely a MAF issue, I know because I had that problem myself. I got my MAF sensor from a junkyard and it's been working great for over a year now, so don't rule out used parts yet, especially considering a new MAF costs $400.
My guess is that there is something destroying your MAF sensor. The reason my original MAF sensor broke is because the Air Injection Valve (AIV) was destroyed from the emissions testing. Anyway, it started leaking water into the airbox, which in turn got on to the MAF sensor and destroyed it. Check the airbox and see if you have any water sitting at the bottom, if you do, disconnect the AIV hose from the airbox before you put another MAF sensor on. Other than that, maybe there's a problem with the wiring from the MAF sensor to the ECU. I don't think there's any thing else that would cause the engine not to rev past 2000 rpm besides a faulty MAF sensor or the ECU.

Thanks for the feed back guys ....I just spent over 2000 for gaskets and machine work...and need my car to work
Also Do you think runing the 300zx maf would work since the have the same # of Pins
also if it is the wirng for the maf Do i have to replace the whole engine harness?

A 300ZX MAF from a naturally aspirated Z31 engine should work, though it may be oriented differently and may not work with the stock airbox. I'm not sure, as I've never seen one from a Z, so that's just a guess, you'd have to check it out yourself. It's not going to give you any added benefits, so I'd just stick with one from a Maxima if at all possible.
As far as the wiring, check the connection first. Maybe the contacts just need cleaned off. If it is the wiring, you should be able to trace it back to where it's cut, and then just splice new wire into it.

Technically speaking, you should be able to run the MAF from the turbo z31 should you have an actual z31 ECU.
