hey

i got a question

i was under the impression the Stillen Supercharger for the Max retailed at $3499. I heard that they had raised their prices to $4000. Is there any truth to this? anywhere that i can verify these prices? thanks

I have heard that you can get a better price from shops other than Stillen. Give Stillen a call, and see what they quote you.

I talked too Dean at Stillen about a week ago,

concerning the Price on the SC and he said it is $3350 and he said he would include the Blitz BOV for free {he said it is $200 value}.I have been contemplating getting a SC for way too long now hehe, because the price and then the install which BTW do I have to have it tuned on a dyno? Because theres no dynoes with in like a 100 miles from me dang! Also reliablality is a mager issue for me too.BTW you may want to see what Phuang/Avolon racing can do about the price,I would think they could do it for about $3000 maybe.

thanks for the responses.

I dont need the supercharger for myself. I have a customer interested in having me install the Supercharger on a 96. He's willing to pay 4k installed. So im pricing around so i can find out how much will ill make on labor.

Sorry about so much lag on the shift/parking brake boot. We had to figure out how to make the parking brake boot work without the buttons. I juss got some samples and will have the real ones SOON. Ill post pricing soon also. Parking brake boots will be about $5 cheaper then Shift boots. Shift boots will be around $20-$22 shipped.

No need for tuning.

There I answered it! HAPPY?! The kit is just a take out of the box, install, and have fun type. You don't need to tune it on a dyno for any reason. The only reason why you would need to put it on a dyno is to find out how much hp you are making, but a lot of SC Maxima owners have already done that. Make sure to install a tranny cooler as well as a VB upgrade if they have an AT. Want more boost? Get an underdrive pulley befoer you install the SC on the car.

Hey thanks for clearing that up for me,but about the smaller pully it will reduce the boost because it drives the belt slower which the super charger is conected too, what you probably meant was the other pully{forgot the name of it}which you can down size too 3.51=10PSI which I am thinking about doing too but then the realiabilaty issue because a even larger factor in my mind anyways.

About the tranny cooler does it really matter since I have a 5spd?Or is it a good precation that either both auto/5spd should obide buy?

Phil take it easy on the boos haha.

ummm.... wait a minute. Nope I screwed up

I meant get a smaller sized pulley, so that would be an overdrive blower pulley. It is 3:30 in the morning though(zzz)

Tranny cooler is a good idea for either the 5 speed or the AT. Sure it may not be neccessary, but I felt that if I could protect the internals of my tranny from failing earlier than needed, I'm was willing to put it on.

umm....does manual tranny need cooler?

they told me it uses something grease like instead of oil like...so...um...no need cooler..
Ok...I have not gotten any proper transmission education yet...*sigh*....at least I know now that my sucky auto box don't have fly wheel...just the darn energy consuming torque convertor....
my next car have to be non auto...
well unless it is an auto with 0-60 in 4 sec ...and 1/4 time of 12..oh wait...I can't afford anything like that
Darn..
I wonder if the max can ever do that...humm..interesting... ^_^

supercharger going up?

Whats wrong with Stillen? Those idiots! Every year they go up on a product? So does that mean that old stillen stuff prices should go up too? I don't think Stillen is making a good idea about raising the price. Try doing a search for someone selling an old one if you like. It should be in good working condition. I saw a few past post where some shops were selling the kit $3500 INSTALLED! Just do a search and ask that guy which shop it was. Anyhow, I'm doing a NOS shoot upgrade. Going 75 shot now baby. And yes it is a good idea to get a valve body and tranny cooler. Get summit combo cooler for 100 bucks. oil and tranny pat # SUM-G4978... I might be able to get a better price on the unit. Email me back at nizmolee@onebox.com if you interested in the cooler combo .

I might have to go NOS too. The price of a supercharger, plus install is just way out of my price range. NOS is cheaper, and more convenient. I think I go with a 60-75 shots for starters; that is, when I get the money to do so.
