Well I'm looking through the issue of Sports Compact Car I just bought and what do I see... an ad for Stillen. It lists their Inakes as "CARB Approved!" Maybe someone should give them a call and ask for some documentation of this. God I dislike that company.

Others have said Stillen hasn't even submitted it for CARB approval yet. So is it really pending or not?

In small print Stillen says "through '98". Like all advertising - not an outright lie - just exaggerate the truth.

The SI is C.A.R.B. approved for the 2K Sentra 2.0 . . .

but NOT for the 2K Sentra 1.8 or the 2K Maxima, at least not yet.

Check out the Feb issue of SCC, page 38.

I didn't see the disclaimer. Have you read the exact ad I was looking at? Either way its misleading. Glad I live in WA and have a JWT PopCharger instead of the SI.

I saw it in the catalog. In the ad (which I haven't seen but can extrapolate) they can say "carb approved" and when you call the answer is "well, some are". Still not a lie you can sue over - just basic dishonest good old American advertising!
