Reverse Indiglo Gauges

For those of you wanting to get those indiglo reverse gauges, there are some on auction on ebay. They are from procarparts.com, seems like they have very many buyers for them. They usually go for 49.99. Right now they have em on ebay for 17.95, if you bid, and 8.00 shipping. Just so a search for 85 maxima. They should come up. Don't bid on the first one, since its me bidding on those. They have 4 or 5 more on there.

I thought about getting those gauges, but I decided not to, because the two light colors (indiglo blue and green) are evenly spread out along the dash and stereo system. The instrument panel and the buttons on my headunit, full DIN equalizer, XM radio are green, and my footpedals passenger side foot well, headunit/equalizer/XM display, my power buttons for the eq and headunit are indiglo blue.

Yeah, you've probally missed it. I don't want to go indiglo blue because the light in my car are now 50/50. If I go Indiglo Blue, then the green buttons in the stereo would be out of place. You gotta accessorise............

Yeah? what is with the needles? they look like they might be red. Did the kit come with something for the needles? I know the one's I know the gauges on should interchange from between blue and green, but I will have to see when I get them. I would like the blue over green myself personally.

Thanks for the compliment!

The needles are still there I assure you. Those pics were taken when I painted over the needles a little red to fit the scheme better so they were darker and less visible, it's back to orange for the needles now, I sanded off the red (too hard to see em at night). If you want to replace your needles you're going to have to buy a separate kit, they're pretty expensive last time I checked on ebay though.

I prefer the blue color as well, although it emits a bit of a high frequency tone.

I'm not sure if you know this, but the gauges will require that you make a few extra holes in them to actually install them, no biggie. And if you haven't installed them yet, I hooked the power source wire up to the cruise control button. I'm not sure why, but it works, high beam and low beam.

I'm planning on tying them into my parking lights so they come on with those. Sometimes I drive at night with just my fog lamps...usually on a dry day, when its really easy.

oK so how are you suppose to wire them. I see many ways they can be wired shouldnt they just automatically be hooked up to the light switch so they come on. What all comes in the kit assembly?

They tap into a power source like aftermarket fog/driving lamps do. My guess is you can tap them into your light switch. I should be getting the in tommorrow, so I will look at the instructions, hopefully I will get them installed at the parts meet for nwmaxima on sunday.

The lights come in 4 separate pieces with wires all over the place, you just have to tuck them away when you're putting the gauge cluster back in.

I wasn't sure about the wires for the lighting system so I just took a circuit tester to the switches and checked out whichever worked when my fog lamps were on. Eventually I found the cruise control power wire activated my circuit tester with fog lamps, low beam, and high beam. (Off otherwise)

So I put the wire from the gauges into there, and put the switch back on. That required stripping some more wire though or else the switch wouldn't have fit back on. Then I just grounded the ground wire to a screw near the fuse box I think. It was a while back, I can't remember.

they come in 4 wires connected to one fuse box switch that comes with it...I connected it through the light power supply in the ciggarette lighter outlet...I couldn't get it to the main supply behind the cluster so I decided to do it my way...sh*t it works!

I got mine in today. Didn't even have to remove the instrument cluster. All went well except the wiring, but I eventually got them working. So far it looks pretty good, but there are some problems with the alignment, and the is an area that doesn't seem to sit flat. I will work it all out later.

I'll borrow my neighbor's digital cam and get some pics of them. I still need to do some work on mine, but they look pretty good so far.

Well, I can tell you right now there are gaps between the individual pieces, so they're not so pretty during the day. As for pics, I'm at college and the car's at home, so I can't post those till May
