Knock Sensor Rant...

I got the dreaded 0304 code. It's really sucking! I've driven 98 miles and I've used almost half a tank of gas. Car doesn't really want to move anymore. The car bogs a bit off the line. The car bogs while crusing on the highway in 4th. I need to get my VI installed so I can change the knock sensor at the same time.

I've got the same problem, well that and a front O2 sensor (actually the O2 sensor heater)

I've heard that the knock sensor code is a ghost code that can show up with an O2 sensor code, but I'm 99% sure the knock sensor is blown too given my cars crappy performance.

I pulled the "P0325- Knock Sensor #1 Malfunction" code on a SNAP scanner. When I looked this up further it says:

P0325- A Spark Knock Occurred - Sensor Circuitry did not respond

I'm Hoping that this dosen't point to a more serious problem that is causing my engine to knock *crosses fingers*

Oh, the knock sensor blues

That is scary! I don't see how I would be getting any knocking. I use good gas and I'm NA. The only code I pulled was the 0304, no O2 sensor code.

Just so you know, the KS is under the lower intake manifold. Taking the upper intake manifold won't help you much. I would swap it now so you will have one less thing to think about when doing your VI.

Under the lower!?? Oh boy. I'll take a look at my haynes manual. I always thought it was under the upper. Thanks!

I changed mine a few weeks ago, its really buried under the manifold, but i bent a metal bracket holding a sensor outta the way so my hand would reach in. It took about 30 minutes to change it out and now i get no more hesitation and more power..... do it now and get it outta the way

Keven97SE changed his while we did his (and my) VI install. There's only about 8 more bolts to remove the lower intake manifold, and you can also clean it while you're in there.
