Custom Maxima 4th Gen Projector Update, about one more month (yea right).

I emailed Custom Maxima to ask about 4th gen projectors. The email I got back said they would be available in about one month. I don't really belive it but who knows. I asked about what type of bulb the used but did not get an answer. Copies of the emails I recieved (with my email quoted) are below.

Dear Customer,
We are hoping on recieve them for our Spring release date with is in about a month. Keep in touch and i'll keep posted.
Thanks,
Brandon

Hi,
I was wondering if you still plan on making projector headlights for the 4th Gen Maxima? If you do plan on making them do you have any idea of when they will be available and at what stage in the production you are at?

Thanks, Jim
Dear Customer,
We are hoping on getting the dual unit first (high/low) but that will only be determined when we recieve the prototype.
Thanks,
Brandon

Brandon,
Thanks, I was about to start a custom projector project but now I will defiantly hold off. Will these be high and low beam or low beam only? Dual projectors or one unit? Do you know what type of projector unit or bulb they will use?

Thanks, Jim

Why are you all so mean to custommaxima.com?

I'm sure they'll come out with these projectors like they said. Just like they did with the red/clears. The point is it's the effort that counts, right? He doesn't have to make anything new if he doesnt want to, atleast he's trying.

Well what would u rather have, poorly constructed lights soon are quality that u have to wait for? I’d choose the latter..

i agree that no one minds waiting, but custommaxima should not tell us that they will be ready in a month if they know for a fact they will not be. CM has brought us a lot of great things, but they are not always honest about the release dates. i just dont even understand why they would give a release date if they dont know it.

Well, Ange (Redline Max) is selling the Sentra projectors for $240 a pair and well under $200 if there are twenty orders in her group deal. I think that would be perfectly fair if the light output was better than stock (my main concern). I wouldn't mind a one piece design but that would mean you would have to cut the metal between the headlight and corner light, making it difficult to go back to stock. I am sure he will sell a lot more if they are a direct replacement.

It's great that CustomMaxima is producing products for us but there is no reason to lie about when something will be avilable. I was among the group that waited 4 months for clear bumper lights. (some waited longer) And of course we all got the wrong ones after the long wait. I could have easily canceled my order and got them anyplace else in less than a week, but Greg was constantly saying they would be in 'next week' . I understand there are production delays and other things beyond his control but when you get the same line about every product it's hard to belive that he is not lieing. I have been considering starting a custom projector project but holding off because they are supposed to be mass produced.

Of course he is not the only one guilty of this, JWT and Warpspeed (among others) are also well known for saying products will be ready and not delivering on time.

I've looked into doing it, and doing a high quality dual projector or projector/reflector assembly isnt exactly easy to do if you want to make it extremely effective

whatever Greg charges or however long he takes, please dont give us some APC BS

Hella 90mm projectors maybe 9006 bulbs, Hella projector or reflector 9005 high beam H1/H7 would be cool too whatever

and for one piece or two piece? one piece if they fit perfectly not Cefiro style

Malik right?

hey man...if it would save money for customs stuff..I wouldn't mind trying to go non-hid. Light output would still be crazy good...I saw an old m3 w halogens...it looked really bright still.

but having HID projectors with the OEM cutoff would be worth the money it would be nice to have!

we'll see whatever is clever

But you guys just have no idea on how hard, how difficult, and how expensive it is to prototype, mold, and produce headlights......

But once it is setup, it is easy from there....

So please give the man some time and some patience, atleast he is still trying to help us out......

My problem is not the time but the fact that Custom Maixma seems to be lieing about when they will be available. If it is going to be 6 months say so. I am considering other options for improving my lighting but if the projectors are really going to be ready in a month then I would rather wait for them. But if I wait a month wthout doing anything and Custom Maxima still says one more month

I understand production delays and other problems happen to push back release dates but when every product is delayed way beyond the advertised release date it is hard to belive that it's not his fault.

I think most here agree that the problem is not being given a relistic date on when something will be available, not the time it takes to make a quality product.

BTW - Now that I think about it, is there anything custommaxima has gotten produced for the Maxima? Looking at his website everthing I see is made by other companies except maybe the skylinebody kit.
