I don't think so.. what you saw probebly was modified maxima.

heres how it happened: he got his new car and was all excited, didnt know what to make one of his first posts about, and one night he was driving around and came up on a 4th gen. they played around a bit, he downshifted to 3rd, the maxima didnt waste his gas and went like half throttle and cruised along, this kid knows he lost, but he thought it would be cool to post about a kill and his "bs run in with a maxima" inspired him to post about that. him and the rest of his civic buddies dont know what a max can do, or they are consided or in denial. so some think he beat it. others knew he was full of it.
delsol is lighter than civic, and my buddie has all the bolt ons and 5speed (good driver) and when my 97' AUTO was stock i pulled about 3 cars. this guy is full of sh*t. i could be wrong about this but................ i doubt it

Was it even a Maxima?
I doubt this knobb-hopper could even recognize a Max if it was parked on his package. I read the first page and most of them don't know diddly squat. Think about it, a 7th Gen civic forum...why?

I had a funny experience with a Civic - I was driving into town with my wife and we were just driving normally - I noticed at a light I was next to a Civic, but I don't race when my wife is with me, so I just drove normally - didn't take it over 3000 rpm, got to 45 mph (40 limit) and just cruised.
the Civic passes me a couple seconds after I stopped accelerating and puts his hazard lights on..
I couldn't believe it..
so my wife asks "what did he do that for?" I replied,
"I think he thinks I was racing him and he was letting me know that he had won and the race was over"
She said, "are you going to let him get away with that?"
I said "not if you're ok with me racing"
so I cruise up level to him and he looks across and I drop into 2nd at 45 mph. My wife and I are both looking at the kid (I can call him a kid because I'm 28 and he was about 17)
I gesture to him to go ahead - kinda like you do when you're yielding to someone. He guns it, I give him a couple car lengths and then floor it and pass him like he's standing still, and I didn't even change into 3rd gear..
I slowed back down and we just laughed at the guy as he caught up.

Poor civic b*sterd. i hate them civics
I am an auto and I killed a del-sol with me 200 lbs, my friend 200lbs, and his girl 130 lbs, against a del-sol with catback and intake without even trying. Haha it was so funny, I barely pushed on the gas and eh took-off, and then I floor it and I just past him like going 45, haha, the guy's girlfriend in the del-sol was hitting him in the arm when I passed him up, haha.
