hybrid injen idea.... need opinions (pics inside)

so I was really bored last night and I thought of a new way to alter my injen filter for a short ram intake effect or for people really worried about rain in their CAI

What do you think about this setup? Any speculations, opinions, or critcism? I haven't been able to run it cause I need to dremel a hole out of the filter to place the air temp sensor.

That looks like an extra-hot air intake. It's too close to the exhaust manifold and it's right behind the radiator fans.

No good.

the mid pipe with the place racing or franken car or whoever else sits behind the battery, taking in much less heat from the engine then sitting it next to radiator hoses, fans and the manifolds.. it may feel a little faster or maybe feel the same but its taking hot air into the car.

i dont understand why people dont by bypass valves from AEM if they are worried about water.. they have different sizes.

well i'm not worried about the water, especially since i've driven through rainstorms from hell this winter and spring.

I was just simply bored and needed feedback from org members

don't dremel the hole in the friggin intake man!

You can just zip tie the air temp sensor to the side of your engine bay

I mean the injen intake looks pretty and all but that will actually hurt your performance. I say either put it back the way it was or find a way to route the intake over somewhere else. You might have to reloacte the battery to do that though.

I know you have decided not to do this but one advantage to the short ram setup is air has a straight shot at the throttle body. With that setup you loose this advantage.

yes, I realize the whole short ram setup can have the mid/top end power like the frankencar. But at this point with members pointing out that the intake is just sucking in super hot air sitting in the position behind the radiator fan and all, it might not be beneficial after all compared to the original location of the injen filter
