Anyone with climate control...

Can someone out there with the automatic climate control system check two things for me, please?

1. On my temperature lever, it looks like there should be a light on the end of the slider to show where it is at night. However, I've never seen mine light up. Can someone tell me if their lever lights up.

2. This one concerns me more, since my compressor seized last year (do you know how illegal it is to find Freon in Ontario now?) and was replaced with a used one. When the A/C is on, my compressor NEVER cycles on and off. It just runs and runs. Can someone turn on their A/C and check to see if the compressor ever cycles on and off. Every other car I've owned, Honda's, Pathfinder, Jeep and Grand Caravan cycled the A/C compressor. Thanks.

BTW, my Max is an '88.

Yeah...its pretty rare considering most have the manual climate control. I wouldn't mind the automatic climate control. My 77 Mercedes 280E had it, my dad's car has it, its kinda nice to have.

what's up, I have an '86 max with the climate control, and there is supposed to be a little green light on the temp slider, yours is probably burnt out. I wish I could help with the second part of your question but I have some sort of electrical problem with my A/C system. My compressor does not run at all when I push the auto button, and this has been going on for so long that I don't remember if it cycled on and off when the system was working!

Oh yeah, I should of read the second part. The A/C systems in our car's do not cycle. So what your experiencing is normal.

Great, thanks for answering. I was worried about burning out the compressor or something. I even called a local Nissan dealership, and they were clueless - they weren't sure if it was supposed to or not.
