geez...sorry to vent but here we go.
my stock rotors were warped only after about 7,000 miles of street/freeway driving. so i went to midas to machine out the rotors and they were fixed..for a while anyway.
now it's warped again. this is ridiculous!!
it seems like whenever i brake hard once or twice, the rotor gets warped..man~~
i hate these stock rotors..i thought maxima breaks were good but this is getting out of hand!
i don't want to replace it with yet another set of stock rotors. does anyone know if aftermarket rotor is any better? maybe it's not my rotors..but just my breaks period...maybe new pads might help?
any info will be appreciated.
thanks in advance...

and uh...please don't suggest me to buy the AP racing 6piston break upgrade...those things cost like...$3000??? too much....just the rotors..thanx

So you finally realized the aren't good? Most of us have warped rotors, but we have to wait until aftermarket pads and rotors become available.

Waiting for Power Slot or Power Stop to come out with some rotors and Porterfield for pads.

I got my front rotors replaced under warranty. They started going bad around 9,000 miles. I got them replaced around 12,000 miles.

Mine were turned under warranty too. Lotsa warranty work on this baby. Nothing too serious, just getting my dollars worth.

If I am not mistaken, Got Rice? and Avalon Racing have Stillen drilled or slotted rotors (core by Brembo), along with Axxis pads available. See http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/2k_parts_list.html for the latest prices I was quoted.

They work if you want thinner rotors... I bought a set so I should know.

Overtorqued rotors

My understanding is that many of the stock rotors come overtorqued from the factory, and they warp over the first coupla' thousand miles. Best recommendation 've heard is to ask the service guy at the dealer to check 'em vs. specs when brionging the new car in for service (? at 1000 miles?) and get them adjusted...they shouldn't warp then (or so I'm told).

That's what I thought, so when they replaced mine I figuered I was good to go...nope! it's been about 4,000 miles and they are starting to go again, WTF!
My only advice is that if you have to pay for them yourself DON'T get the factory rotors, they are clearly inferior quality! I plan to wait a little longer and let them get worse before I bring them back again. If they won't replace them free of charge again I will find a better quality replacement.

you could be overtightening your rims? I raced on my stock rotors (2hrs of track time)...12K miles on the car and they aren't warped. What are you guys doing to kill your rotors?!?
