My injector tested out of spec... now what?

My injector tested out of spec... now what?

My #3 injector tested out of spec. The normal resistance should be 10-14 ohms. All of my injectors tested at roughly 10.4 ohms. And my #3 tested at 18 ohms.

Is this terribly bad? I know it's only going to get worse. My car is running pretty good right now.

Should I wait until it causes some popping noises or should I go ahead and replace it now?

How hard is it?

And what parts should I replace while I'm into my motor? KS, VTC, injector o-rings?

So, who has tested the resistance of all the injectors? What did you find? Thanks.

only prob ive heard on injectors is gettin it outa da fuel rail, that and making sure all the new o-rings are in place properly...check w/ jeff92se, he had sum injectors 4 sale...

other stuff to check while youre dere...valve cover gaskets, knock sensor, eric talked good stuff about the injector tuneup kit dealie...$60 bucks and prolly worth it...are your vtcs bad?

gaskets r a pain on dat 1...i think the lower intake gasket is like $50 bucks...ouch, i have an upper intake gasket if u want it, when i did my rear valve cover the thing still looked good so i just sealed it up and it didnt leak...good stuff

Thanks for the reply. I think whenever I go into my motor, I will replace KS and harness, do a VTC rebuild, and check all my injectors. It will need to be done one day, but for right now, I will keep driving it until I can actually tell there's an injector problem.

i have 3 injectors that read out of spec but my max runs awsome to, the front middle reads 18 and 2 on the back read 23 the rest all read 12 so im pretty much planning the same thing this summer but i am going to replace all 6 injectors at once plus ks and probly vtcs

Oh ok, so I guess that an injector has to be WAY out of spec before it starts causes problems.

Anybody else tested their injector's resistance? Results? Thanks.
