i'm in the market for some hids, but this being a projector kit, does this mean that we must modify the headlight assembly in order to get these in? how easy is that?

also, by looking at the garage door reflections and seeing they're phillips bulbs, i'm assuming these are around 4100K units. thanks...

Yes and yes. This deal is for a PURE CUSTOM headlamp assembly project.

Phillips D2S bulbs are standard @ around 4100-4300k.

Ever wonder how OEM HIDs get that deep purplish glare from far away? The cutoff shield inside the projector assembly creates a cutoff pattern that reflects colors of blue and purple. More info @ http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/projector-unit.htm in the section about the colorful band.

I would get Hella 90mm projectors for its good price, but I really want bi-xenon as there is a better chance for a single projector to fit into our headlamp assemblies rather than two separate projectors/reflectors. Also with OEM HIDs such as these, we can obtain that deep purple color that's so attrative @ nite, while still obtaining optimum color temp @ 4100k for visiblity.

That is not the exact kit we get...we don't get that custom housing and bi-xenon is a single unit that has high/low beams integrated in one. So basically, you can have low beam HID and high beam HID.

Also, autolevelling is not included...it is just the bi-xenon projector unit w/ the bulbs/ballasts. It may sound a bit pricey, but for brand new Hella items + bi-xenon technology, it may be worth it to those few looking for excellent lighting.

Stillen_I30, I don't think anyone has a writeup. There have only been a handful of memebers who have done a projector conversion...off the top of my head, 1HOTMAX and Evil Yak. There is no "right way," the only thing you have to do is create a proper backplate or mounting plate and seal it up properly. Once the projectors are in, it's plug and play for the bulbs themselves.

I will ask about a warranty, thanks for the Qs.

do we need to change any wiring? for the high low thing?

I'm thinking just drilling the projectors in and sealing it... will that work?

maybe we can get someone to create a proper backplate/mounting plate for the 4th gen? then all we have to do is drill/mount/seal it

Any more inquiries, please PM me for the moment. In consideration of Ange's GD (97MaxGurl) I am postponing this GD till April 12th.

As for the questions...remember, this is a fully CUSTOM job. If you want more details, go to the root page of http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/hl-hid-kits.htm. There is tons on info on this website. Yes, it requires a custom backplate or mounting unit...since these units are not sealed, it will take a good amount of time to figure out a way to waterproof/mosture proof them.
here is some big shots of how the 97-99 housing looks like

whats the plan?

Sup TurDz. If I had not bought my 6k Hanabi over a year ago, I would definitely pick the setup you have right now. I will save money for this custom job, and sell my Hanabis to a friend. The 6k Hanabis are great, better than stock, kewl purple light, but too much unwanted attention from cops, and other "enthusiasts."

I definitely like that pure hid light output. I know it will be much better since it is stock HID output.

Since it appears that custommaxima have not produce any reasonable "projector headlamps," people like me have to resort to other methods, and by far, this is the best I have seen offered.

Why you holding this off? I don't think Angie is offering a setup like this is she? All I can find is her GD on 6500/8k HIDs, and some Sentra Angel Eyes that won't fit our car (I wish it did, lesser work).

Sentra Angel eyes won't have proper backplate to fit our maximas, also getting the outer edge to line up with our corner lamps is a PITA

TurDz is a good man I hope this bi-Xenon project works out.. our 9004 stock housing is horrible.

Not sure what you meant by backplate in this post since you mentioned outer edge and corner lamps, im thinking the back of sentra housing .....but...

Do you think the 'internal plate' that the actual projectors mount on (inside the sentra housing) can fit inside the maxima's headlamp housing (with modifications of course)? Maybe this plate can be used as a base for turdz projectors by duplicating it.

If this is what you were talking about.....sorry!

btw, this one is really nice.....

Backplate meaning the backside of the Sentra headlight assembly.. mounting points aren't the same. The cost of the headlights, plus the modification work involved, just isn't worth while for any company go through that.

It is possible to make the b14 Sentra headlights fit into 4th gen.. but what do you do with the corner lamps (and possible fitment issue with the stock grill)?
