Gd: Obx Exhaust

IF YOU HAVE ORDERED FROM THIS COMPANY CANCEL YOUR ORDER...I am sorry that I shared this with you all because I do not think you will ever be able to get an OBX exhaust from them. They are not organized enough at their company to realize that they can not even get a hold of OBX and they ran a few of us in circles for 3 weeks before saying that OBX for the Maxima is not available. They have no idea what is going on. Cancel your order. SORRY AGAIN.

ADAM

Do you know if OBX did any revisions because ive heard that there are fitment issues with it. I dont want to end up going to a shop and pay $100 to make it fit properly. If they did fix this issue, then i'd be interested

As far as I am concerned there are no fitment issues. Some people complain that there is a bend in it that hangs lower than stock. Victim64 has told me this is not true. He has KYB AGX and B&G springs(pretty much the lowest your MAX can sit--i think its close to a 2" drop). He says he has never scraped his OBX to date. I am 90% sure that Greddy hangs the same way as the OBX, just that noone has complained about it.

To make it fit perfect, some have had it heated and bent. meccanoble just told me that when he had his OBX installed, they saw the problem and heated it up and fixed it at no extra charge, but again as far as I am concerned there should be no problem.

The part that hangs low is a portion of the b-pipe after the L bend by the rear door and tire. I have NEVER scraped this portion of the pipe. I used to scrap the stock resonator all the time with my drop. If you get on your hands and knees you can see the portion of the pipe that hangs low under the car, but for this price how can you complain for a full Stainless Steal exhaust???

Only fitment issue (that should be a concern) is the exhaust needs to be alined with metal hose clamps to make it sit snug in the cut out. If not it will sag like the OEM muffler does. (This takes like 3 min to do) For pics check out my homepage link.

i also have sprint springs and scrape my front a lot but have never (not even in the snow we had today) scraped the b-pipe...or maybe it melted real fast lol, but never scraped on the ground or hit a pot hole. I actually had a pic of how low mine is hanging and thats how some greddy's hang too...

definitely worth it, especially when others are going for 500 +

So are you happy with the sound of it? Is it loud with the Y-pipe? I'm considering replacing just my B-pipe and keeping the stock muffler, but this exhaust is only a little more and I wouldn't mind have a little additonal sound. I just don't want anything which is Loud or droning.

I am very happy with the sound. It gives a nice deep rumble and WOT sounds mean. However, the drown is not that bad compared to many I have heard.

i have warpspeed y-pipe, its not that loud at all. I love it, i went through 3 different exhaust systems, custom with no resonators, sounded too loud and raspy wit y-pipe, went through 2k1 muffler wit y-pipe and custom b-pipe, a lot more quieter but still had a little rasp, OBX catback (comes wit resonated b-pipe), soo perfect, not that much if any raspy sound, sounds deep, real quiet for a full catback system, if i sell my car, i rather put stock and take this off to put in a new maxima if i ever got another one, thats how much i love it.

When you first put it on it will be loud!!! Give it time to adjust and it gets quieter. When I first installed mine I was debating putting the OEM back on. However, after a few days of driving the ECU must have adjusted because I could hear my intake over the exhaust again?

what up fellas.

heres the deal.

for 270 + 35 shipping you cant beat it IMO. I dont think you will find a better price becaue this is supposed to be pretty close to wholesale. Anywhere else you see they go for $350+ so this is probably the best deal.

i dont know the guys well or anything so i dont know how the service is or anything. right now they said about 2 weeks because they are on order pending.

so its up to you. whenever you want to order i am sure you can get the same price because thats their regular price through these people.

With a NA car the performance gains between the two couldn't be seen. And if you have plans for Turbo or SC you need a 3" anyway.

As for mine, I think it was 2.5, it looked in appearance larger than the OEM pipe. However, I didn't measure it, so have no FACTS on this. Some did get 2.25 pipes though. (These were some of the ones that went out later??) I actually recieved mine before many on the group deal did so maybe there were two batches?? One day when I get bored I might take it down and see, but doesn't really matter either way to me?
