Where do I tap the EGT gauge?

I heard that some people have tapped it in their Y pipes if I read correctly. Why would it be placed there and isn't it inaccurate?

Placing it right after the two pipe meet on the y-pipe is probably the most accurate. Remember the farther back you go onthe exhaust the less accurate. You want the most accurate reading for EGT. I have mines in the y-pipe right basically right where the "y" is made.

I tapped mine into the rear section of the Ypipe. a couple of inches below the 02 sensor. The rear banks are what tend to run lean anyways.

My temps coincide with those that others have posted.

Wouldn't the manifold be the most accurate?

You'd need one for each manifold then.
