Defi fuel pressure gauge, any comment?
Defi fuel pressure gauge, any comment?
Hi all:
as titled. This is the only fuel pressure gauge, besides the autoemters, in psi unit. All others are in metric format. Does anybody here have it? Any comment or review on its quality and installation. I assume it is pretty much the same as all other electronic fuel pressure gauge.
one more question:
where do you guys tap the sensor?
I know Dixit tapped after the fuel feed, before it enters the fuel rail. I am thinking about tapping it after the fpr, before the FMU. Is it the right place? correct me if I am wrong. I picked this place because it is right before the FMU and it will indicate the increase of fuel pressure quickly once the FMU is avtivated.

I have the D-Link gauges so installation is just a little different on the gauge side. does it come with a fuel line t or just the sensor?
5th gens are a little different setup but you want it before the fuel rail, not after.

why do you want the sensor to be tapped before the fuel rail? So I will tap this right after my aux pumpe. Is this right?

thx for the reply. I doubt this comes with a tee.

You want to tap in before the fuel rail because the fuel pressure regulator is situated at the end of the rail. On the other hand, if you have removed the oem fpr and are running an aftermarket fpr connected to the fuel rail by a hose, then you can tap into the hose between the fpr and the fuel rail. So a more accurate answer would be that you need to tap in somewhere before the fpr.

so you are saying the reading will not be correct if it is taken aftern the FPR?

I've never seen it tapped in there but I have seen lower pressures with the gauge in the aftermarket fpr attached by an off rail fitting.

The fpr is what creates the fuel pressure. It is basically an orifice in a fluid stream, which acts to restrict flow. So before the fpr you have high pressure, after the fpr the pressure in the fuel return line is near ambient.
