Big *** turbo? and a bunch of NOS. They sound like that is the fastest a Maxima can go, they need to run into a couple of the 11 second club members.

Yea really. Maybe as the Camaro guy was stapeling his broken door panels back on, he caught a glimpse of the solidness of Matt's build quality and got jealous that a daily driven, little FWD Jap car with half the displacement 0wNeD him.

Don't get me wrong, I love Camaro's more then 90% of members on Maxima.org, but ignorant rednecks p!ss me off.

Good Build quality and GM vehicle dont belong in same sentence. The same holds true for Nissan (pi$$an?) vehicles.

Well you can always say at least the max is still being made...but then again the Supra stopped bein made....

Dont know what most of this garbage means but:

Whisper lid, Holley, Hurst ,Loudmouth, ASP Crank pulley, FTRA, LS1 edit, Global West LCA's, SFC's, FLP's no cats, Hoosiers, Strange rear (4:30's) and Mcleod Kevlar clutch.
Tell me why they are laughing at a maxima with probably half their horsepower stock?

Whisper lid- air lid sorta like the max air box
Holley- I'm assuming Holley ignition
Hurst- prolly hurst shifter or "roll control" line lock
Loudmouth = SLP loudmouth (aftermarket exhaust)
ASP crank- underdrive plly
FTRA- Fast Toys Ram Air
LS1 edit = computer program that can alter the ECM
LCA's- im assuming lower control arms
SFCs- subframe connects
FLP- probbly FLP long tube headers if its got no cats
Hoosiers- slicks or DRs
rear 4.30 is gear ratio. For reference the maxima's 5 speed final drive is about 3.8 IIRC.
clutch- self explanatory

Yeah will he could have taken us to lunch, he had a huge turbo powered by a belt and some Nitrous. Freaking idiots ooh well, what a shame a family sedan owning a sports car.

I read the thread and I don't get it. Did these guys look under the hood or anything of the 6 banger? Then what is so strange about him thinking it might have been a turbo?
I think they were shocked at how fast the family car went. I mean, it is a 4 door family car after all, not a race car. I would be surprised to see a family car go into the 12's.

Oh yeah, isn't 12.2 just about as fast as a maxima will go? Or is this time not even close to the potential a maxima can do?

Have you ever sat in an F-body? Their enterior's are jokes compared to ours. I don't know about all yall's "squeeking" problems, but my entire is solid, never rattles, and keeps the wind noise very low on the highway. You cheap-@ss GXE guys have no right to complain, you had your chance to get a solid Max. (HAHA, GET IT BEN? CHEAP GXE BECAUSE YOU HAVE A GXE! JUST A JOKE, AKA NOT SERIOUS)

Nah, I got an SE and a GXE and I think the GXE is gonna be faster. I also like it better, it just feels lighter, tighter and faster.

Probably the helium in the tires. Or was I breathing it?

Please, lets not talk about the "People with GXE's have no money" stuff again. GXE's outrun everything.

My SE is faster than my GXE.

Craig, what a stupid ****ing argument. My SE has just as many squeaks and rattles as my GXE does/did. Grow up man.

Damn you guys get offended easily. Once again, I was joking. You people who think I was trying to make a serious arguement (ejj) need to take some "internet anger management". My '95 SE has no rattles whatsoever, and my sisters '95 GXE has lots, so that's what I was basing it on. That's not to say some of your SE's and GLE's don't have rattles. The "Cheap @ss GXE" comment was just a joke. And quit bringing up the speed issue, I was talking build quality.

So flame on all you angry folk, geez.

*'97.
I did. It had some nice features such as black leather, premium sound system, T-tops, ect. But the interior was still sh!tty. I have no problem admitting that. It's not the interior that I was going for. If someone would have said to me "man craig, your Max had a nicer and roomier interior" i'd say yes, yes it did.
