Need Help !
I went to the local Nissan Dealership in the Suburbs of IL yesterday.
Spoke to one of the main managers in the service department. He was actually reffered to my by another Org memeber. I told him about the TSB notice that a lot of 6speed max's were getting done and he said no problem! The service manager actually has a shop on the side and works on modding cars!. He said that I should bring my car in today and he will let his computer tech guy check out my car and work on it. On the side he said he can "retard my computer by 2 to 3 degrees"
to improve my performance. He stated that he has done this to a few Org members and that they really liked it. All I had to do is give his computer guy $20 bucks for the re-program. It won't show on the paperwork, but I will feel a big difference.
Can you guys enlighten me with what this retard by 2 to 3 degrees will do. I asked him if it was my like retarding came gears, and he said no, its all a computer re-programing that makes the difference.
Has anyone had this done? Can anyone fill me in what this means?
I'm trying to hide his name and dealership, since this service guy and his friend might get into some trouble.

I'm not sure about retarding anything. Maybe he mentioned advancing the ignition timing through the computer. Here's one good thread about it:

He's probably talking about Advancing. Which dealer is that? I live in Chciago and couldn't find a dealer willing to advance my timing.
