Brake groan when in reverse

Anyone out there experience a brake groan when you're going in Reverse? My 99 SE-L 5 speed started doing it after I did a 4 wheel pad swap & brake bleed. I've heard rumours that Nissan has an updated emergency brake cable kit that fixes this groan, but without the lovely search feature here I'm toast.
When I replaced the pads I did all the usual tricks of removing & cleaning all the slides & guide pins so I don't think it's a caliper hanging up. The brakes are normally nice & quiet and it's only when I'm in Reverse that the groan happens.

Mine did that for a while as well. I just ignored it, knowing my brakes were not hanging up and it went away.

Sounds like you did a great brake job, taking the guide pins out and all.

If everything was in good shape, and you know for sure nothing is binding, then wait a few weeks to see if the famous groan goes away.

My 99 did it for the most part of the first year of it's life. After that it's never made a sound. My buddies I30 also had the famous groan, he got over 100K on the original brakes in his car.

Well I'm not sure if this relates to your scenario but when I'm trying to pull out of a tight parking spot and I have to keep my foot on the brake while I'm in reverse and forward gears I do hear brake groan when I'm turning the wheel I guess it's normal since the pads are losing grip slowly while I'm completely turning the wheel.

Not to long ago I got new back rotors. Mine groans when I'm reversing and braking. Doesn't happen all the time though. Haven't heard anything about this E-brake thing. What is it about?
