Direct wiring Valentine 1 detector
Direct wiring Valentine 1 detector
Just bought one after getting pulled over last weekend for going 58 in a 45 zone. Fortunately, the cop bought my excuse that it's a new car and I didn't realize how fast I was going!
Anyway, the valentine works great, but I want to wire it into the auto dimmer rearview mirror wire. Anyone done it?

Valentine 1 hard wire article
How to connect to the auto-dim mirror article
Props to the guys who made these. I just hooked up my Bel 985 the other day using the second article...works like a charm! By the way, the article mentions that there's no way to tell which wire is the 12V+ but if you look closely one has a thin red line on it - that's the positive 12V source.
Enjoy the car and the power and careful w/ the gas pedal!!
Another possibility is that you could go to Tweeter or someplace of the sort and have it done. I decided to do that because it was much quicker, took only 20 min, and cost $15. Plus if it ****s up for any reason, I can take it back and they'll look at it, saves some headaches.
