Clay bar users - detaili8ng question

I have a black Max and I used a clay bar on it today. It really brought out a deep shine.

However, I noticed there were faint lines of clay residue on the car and I ned to find out how to get them off. It is really faint but with a black car...it is obvious.

This is the first time I used the bar and was not sure how to get the reidue off. I did try to run the clay bar over the spots to see if it would pick up the residue but I had no luck.

If anyone has any experience, please let me know.

I noticed that too but deep cleaning like that does reveal more serious imperfections in the finish...like scratched areas...I had to buff mine out 3 times to get them all out but the finish was amazing afterwards.

Wizza - Did you clay bar it then wax it..... if ot what did you use to buff them out?

It is definitely clay residue and not scratches...

I did check out Autopia and I did not find much info on clay bar how to's.

you have to use alot of deailer/lube so that you don't get residue, and then rinse it off quickly after going over it so it doesn't dry.

thanks Nick...I figured it out today when I clay bar'ed our other car. You definitely need lots of detailing spray and I do not recommend the Mequiar's Clay bar..... sh!tty product.
